Your story, told properly.

Why The Weaver?

Every business has the threads of a good story that people want to read and engage with.

I’m the Weaver. I pull those threads together and help them find their voice, perfect their messaging and get them noticed and respected across the platforms that matter to them.

Storytelling is at the heart of what I do. Good stories are the fabric of effective communication and meaningful engagement. I can be the perfect fit for organisations that really want to celebrate their achievements, promote their services and improve engagement with their target audience.

First

Find the raw material

I start by asking, listening and learning from you, your team and the people you serve.

Next

Create the story

I shape what I find into a clear story and a look that feels like you, and we choose the direction together.

Then

Get you noticed

You get everything you need to tell it well, with the right words on the right platforms.

Sound familiar?

01

‘We know we’re good, but not enough people know about us.’

02

‘I wish we had the time and skills to tell our audiences how good we are.’

03

‘We get such good feedback, but we don’t know how best to share it.’

04

‘We just can’t afford a big agency price tag.’

Two ways to work with me

One person, one way of working. Pick whichever fits where you are.

Brand strategy

The Weaver

For start-ups, growing businesses, social enterprises and charities who need a clear brand foundation, whether you’re starting from scratch or it’s time for a refresh.

Story & positioning

Get clear on who you are, who you’re for and why it matters. A foundation everything else can build on.

Messaging & tone of voice

Know exactly what to say and how to say it, so everyone in your business tells the same story.

Brand identity

A look that feels like you, with guidelines and ready-to-use assets so it stays consistent everywhere.

Marketing support

The marketing person
you can’t hire yet

For small businesses and founders who know marketing matters but don’t have the time, team or budget for an agency. I work alongside you, on one project or every month, and bring ten years of brand and agency experience to the day‑to‑day.

Copywriting

Words that sound like you for your website, campaigns and brand. Clear, not clever for the sake of it.

Social media

Show up consistently with content people want to read, not just posts to fill the grid.

Email marketing

Newsletters planned, written and scheduled, so your audience hears from you and actually opens them.

Project management

Briefs, suppliers and deadlines handled, so the things you’ve been meaning to do actually get done.

About me

I've sat on both sides of the table.

I've spent ten years in marketing, across PR, in-house brand, video production and agency account management. I've worked client-side at Matalan and led a client services team in an agency, so I know what it takes to get a brand right, and what it takes to get it out the door.

I've worked in retail with Matalan, adidas, JD Sports and Sports Direct, and with charities including the NSPCC and Alder Hey Children's Charity, as well as across hospitality, sport and construction.

You get straight advice, a clear plan and someone who sees it through. And when something needs a specialist, I know exactly who to bring in.

You bring the threads. We weave them together.

Lovely words from clients

Emily joined us as Brand Comms Exec and quickly became someone I relied on. She has a real instinct for what a brand stands for and how to say it, and she played a big part in our charity work, including the Alder Hey and NSPCC partnerships. She’s brilliant at bringing different teams, partners and perspectives together into something clear and cohesive, and she does it with genuine care for the cause.

Leanne McLoughlinSenior Brand and Campaigns Manager, Matalan

Working with Emily never felt like an external agency account manager – she genuinely took the time to understand our business, our people and what we were trying to achieve. She brought fresh ideas and a different perspective to our conversations, and wasn’t afraid to make suggestions or challenge our thinking when she felt there was a better way to approach something.

She was excellent at taking what could sometimes be quite complex ideas and helping us turn them into clear, engaging marketing… I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her – or to work with her again in the future.

Emily was an absolute delight to work with during our time on the same project piece – insightful, perceptive, highly organised and totally supportive. She fully commits to any task and delivers to a high standard.

I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Emily again and can highly recommend her services from tried experience.

Good questions

We're stretched thin already. Do we have time for this?

You'll need a handful of conversations. The thinking, writing and doing happen on my side.

We've just got funding and we're starting from scratch. Is that too early?

It's the best time. Getting your brand clear at the start is far easier than untangling it later, and it means everything you build from here pulls in the same direction.

What if we're not sure what we want yet?

That's exactly where we start. Bring what you know and a willingness to think it through, and we'll work out the rest together.

Can I just get help with one thing?

Yes. That’s what my marketing support is for. Tell me what's falling through the cracks and we'll work it out.

Recognised yourself somewhere on this page? Let's talk.

Drop me a note and tell me about the work you're doing and where you want to take it next. I'd love to hear from you.
